It has been a while since our last update and we wanted to share with you what’s been happening on the building front. First, the Surge and Stretch Challenge, which is how we will be financing the For SVL Building Project (along with bank financing), is off and running. As of April 21st, the Surge has generated $48,759.50 in contributions (with more coming in every week) while the Stretch Challenge continues to add margin to the Operating Fund. This is all by design and is working well even through the current health and financial crisis thanks to your dedication and generous support!
The funds received from the Surge and Stretch Challenge will allow us to pay down/pay off the land loan, establish a reserve fund and pay architectural design fees and preliminary land preparation costs. Here is the Commitment Card you can fill-out and send in online, or if you would like to just make a contribution to the Building Surge, you can do via the Ashley Ridge app or by going to www.ashleyridgechurch.org and clicking on Give.
Our Building Team Civil Engineer, Matt Halter, is getting proposals from at least two local surveying companies on work which will need to be accomplished to prepare the land for construction. We are also planning or meeting soon with our architectural firm, Equip Studio, for the redesign of the new church building as soon as funds become available.
Thank you for your continued prayers and involvement as we move forward to love and serve the Summerville community!
