First, I want to give you a positive development on our Surge & Stretch Challenge
campaign. The Surge has generated $70,018.80 in contributions to date which is
an increase of +$8,554.87 in the past two weeks. Surge contributions continue to
come in each week and we feel momentum is building in this area despite the
headwinds of the coronavirus pandemic and financial crisis. The initial Surge deadline
of May 31 st has been extended to the end of the year to allow 1) those affected
by the current crisis the opportunity to participate in the effort and 2) allow
Ashley Ridge Church the greatest opportunity to reach its Surge 2020 fundraising
We have also seen positive developments on the building front since our last
update. Pastor Jenn, James Galloway and I had an initial ZOOM conference with
Jonathan Edens, architect on May 18th. Jonathan is with the firm Equip Studio
out of Greenville, SC and has already submitted a Proposal Outline for
Architectural Services which is being reviewed by the church staff and leadership.
In another positive development, I received a call from H. Chapman (Chappy)
McKay, Vice President, Trident Construction. Trident Construction was chosen back in 2017 to be our General Contractor (GC) for the new facility. He has invited representatives from our church leadership to his office for an initial planning meeting. We do not yet have a date for the meeting but hope to in the next couple of weeks. He also has the ability to fast track planning and construction of our new facility saving several months on the timeline.
As you can see, there are many positive developments going on with the For SVL
Building Project, and it will get busier and busier the closer we get to breaking
ground on the new Ashley Ridge Church facility. But, nothing is bigger or more
important than your continuous support and generous financial gifts which makes
this all possible!
