July 10 Building Update 010
“And, we’re off!”
In June, the Leadership Team approved funding from the Operating Account in the amount of $12,200 for Parker Land Surveying, LLC to proceed with survey work on the 10 acre building site in Summers Corner. With this very important first step, Ashley Ridge Church has entered the execution phase of the building process. The Scope of Work will include the following:
- Topographic Survey
- Tree Survey (12” hardwoods and 20” pines)
- Route Survey for sewer to the north (650’)
- Route Survey for the water along Summers Drive (1,600’)
The above when completed will provide valuable information on how much fill (dirt) will be required to bring the building site up to elevation and code. This is important for cost analysis and budgetary reasons.
The survey work will be followed by civil engineering services for which we have already received estimates from Cypress Engineering, Seamon Whiteside and Thomas & Hutton. A decision on which company will be performing the work is expected later this summer.
The Scope of Work for the civil engineering services is broken down into the following main areas: Schematic Design, Construction Documents, Permitting, Construction Administration and Subconsultants
Once the civil engineering is completed and permits are received, actual land preparation can begin. Timeframe to begin is dependent upon raising the necessary funds to complete the work.
