A Letter From Our Pastor

As followers of Jesus, we know the best is always yet to be. We also know God has brought us this far and done so much in our lives and in our church. So NOW, we stand at the crossroads between what has been and what will be, eager to play a role in the kingdom God is building on earth as in heaven.

NOW is our time. It’s our time to show up, to worship like everything depends on God, and love one another like the faith of the next generation depends on us. God is trusting us with this moment.

God is also trusting us with HERE. We believe God has called us to be a thriving community of Jesus-followers, unapologetically proclaiming the gospel and boldly living our lives as Jesus taught us to live, right here in Summerville, South Carolina. This community is our community. These neighbors are our neighbors – the ones Jesus told us to love as He has loved us!

God wants to lead you on a journey in this season. I’m challenging our church to lean in, to stretch, to commit to God in ways we may have never considered before. I’m praying God will speak clearly and that I will not get in the way or pull any punches. I’m praying for a move of the Spirit that will start on our knees and shake the foundations of everything around us. We are both building and re-building as God says move!

I want you to grow in your relationship with God and as a follower of Jesus, and TOGETHER, we will see God build His church and do supernatural things in our midst.

The Now Here Vision

We believe God is calling us into a new season as a church – a season where He is stretching, shaping, and growing our church as He is stretching, shaping, and growing us individually. God is calling us to put down roots and build a home for Summerville. Now. Here. We have two main goals for this next season.

Primary Goal

100% ENGAGEMENT

Our primary goal is discipleship engagement in generosity. It is about our hearts. We invite everyone who calls Ashley Ridge Church home to engage in asking God how we can honor Him with 100% of what we have each been given.

We want to truly live out the truth that God is truly first in all things. We believe God is taking us to the next level of discipleship depth. We invite you to honestly and prayerfully reflect on these three questions in this season with us:

NEXT LEVEL SURRENDER

What steps do I need to take to move away from the pursuit of my own comfort and to move toward deeper dependence upon Jesus?

NEXT LEVEL FAITH

How can I joyfully and gratefully honor God with 100% of what He has given to me?

NEXT LEVEL GENEROSITY

What new level of generosity can begin to express my gratitude for what He has done for each of us?

Secondary Goal

2 Million Dollars

Our secondary goal is MISSION ADVANCEMENT. We believe the best opportunity to grow our ministries and advance the gospel in Summerville is to build a permanent home base designed to meet the needs of our local community. To do that, we need to raise at least 2 million dollars above and beyond our operational giving to help fund the construction and outfitting of our building over the next two years. These funds will go along with the construction loan to fund the total cost of the building.
