August 21 Building Update 015
“Family Meeting!”
This Sunday evening, August 23rdat 8 pm, Ashley Ridge Church has a very important Family Meeting and an appointment with destiny. Pastor Jenn will talk about exciting upcoming plans for Ashley Ridge Church to resume in-person gatherings, and she will give a progress report (with Q& A) on the building project. It is so crucial to communicate this information to the congregation that the Family Meeting will be replayed each evening at 8 pm for the next 5 nights.
I want to encourage everyone to watch and participate in this important virtual event. As the Project Leader, I can tell you we are at a crossroads for the building project. We have successfully navigated through the pandemic, the financial storm that followed, demonstrations, social unrest and the uncertainly of the season. We have scratched and clawed our way up the financial “thermometer” to the point we can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.
There has been no shortage of challenges along the way, but through it all, I can tell you this, Ashley Ridge Church as a congregation, has been outstanding in its determination to keep the church and building effort going under the most difficult of circumstances. It has fed those in need, given generously and sacrificially to the General Fund and recorded some amazing totals with regards to the Building Surge.
I would like to be able to tell you that it has been enough, that we are there, done, finished with the fundraising, but I can’t. As the Project Leader, it is my responsibility to see the mission is accomplished, and until James is on stage with the fabulous AR Band and Pastor Jenn is bringing us another inspiring message from our new facility in Summers Corner, we still have work to do, funds to raise and challenges to overcome.
The next two tasks are heavy lifts and will require an abundance of spiritual muscle and sacrifice, but I believe, when accomplished, it will get us over the hump. The first task is paying for the land. As of August 10th we need 167K to be able to say “paid-for” or yell “we’re debt free,” and second, the civil engineering phase must start very soon if we are to keep to our timeline of having a building completed by the end of 2021.
Please pray for our church, its ministry and the building project that we may find a way to take these next key steps in the building effort.
If you would like to make a contribution to the General Fund or Building Surge, you can do so here.
