October 23 Building Update 030
“Legos & Land Loan”
Legos. About four weeks ago, Pam and I received legos which were being given out before the in-person worship service at the high school. I think I got mine from Amy Young. This was to be a reminder that we are all an integral part and piece of what Ashley Ridge Church is building in the Summerville community. It worked!
We have our legos, one teal and one white, proudly displayed on top of our curio cabinet in the living room and every time we walk past them they remind us of what a privilege it is to be a part of something so special and so important for the future of the Summerville community. Like Pastor Jenn and Andy Stanley, we believe the local church is the hope of the future!
This Sunday, October 25th, Ashley Ridge Church will briefly become “lego land” in the sense we will each have the opportunity to symbolically build a piece of our new building with a written prayer, a lego and an offering. Pastor Jenn will have more to say on this, but do “mark your calendar” as you and your little people just won’t want to miss this Sunday’s in-person worship service! It’s going to be fun!!!
Land Loan. As you know, we are in the final days (Day 38) of the 40-Day Push to Burn the Note on the land. We started off the Surge and Stretch Challenge in March of this year with a loan principal balance of approx. 280K. In the midst of a pandemic and months of inability to meet in person, we have chiseled the land loan pay-off down to 116K. We can get across the finish line TOGETHER!
As we head into this weekend’s celebration, I wanted to make sure you had the latest giving numbers. The below figures are MTD as of October 23rd:
Regular Giving $30,991.61
Building Surge $19,849.00
If you would like to make a contribution to the General Fund or Building Surge, you can do so here.
