December 2 Building Update 033
Special Edition: “Big Stuf”
There is big stuff and then there is “Big Stuf!” I would consider the building project to be big stuff and very important if not critical to the future of Ashley Ridge Church, but it is NOT the “Big Stuf” I want to talk about today in this Special Edition, Building Update.
The “Big Stuf” I want to talk to you about today is the student camp happening this summer in Florida which needs our support. I believe one of the most Capital investments a church can make is in its young people whether that be the little ones or the young adults. They are the future and the future leadership of the church!
I was raised United Methodist, which meant the church camps I attended each summer were located at Columbia College, Columbia, SC. They were some of the first experiences I had as a teenager being “away” from home and on my “own.”
They were wonderful experiences filled with making friends, worship and music!
It is also where I received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in 1974. This one particular church camp 46 years ago, and this one particular prayer (that probably lasted no more than 30 seconds) has shaped my entire adult life and led me on an incredible spiritual journey to the doors of Ashley Ridge Church.
SO, I hope you can see why I am so grateful for the opportunities I had as a young adult to attend church camp, and why I think it’s such “Big Stuf” for our arStudents to be able to attend. Yesterday we focused our Giving Tuesday efforts on raising funds to help send our students and leaders to camp in 2021, including transportation, scholarships, and more. Even though Giving Tuesday has passed, any time you give to Ashley Ridge Church, you help support critical ministries like these. Thank you for giving!
If you would like to make a contribution to arStudents and the “Big Stuf” Student Camp this summer, you can do so here.
