August 24 Building Update 059
“Real Talk”
Wanted to jump on and give you some “Real Talk” on the FOR SVL Building Project! As the Project Leader, I can tell you almost nothing has gone as planned even though we had a plan. But, through it all we have continued to revise the plan as necessary and grind out hard-fought progress on the building front.
Lately, we have made progress on getting an agreement with Lennar on an alternate building site (higher in elevation) next to ARHS, progress on securing bank financing, and progress on raising funds to provide working capital until the Business Line of Credit (LOC) and Construction Loan are activated.
None of this has been easy! In fact, it’s been downright arduous and frustrating at times. But, one thing keeps me going and that is YOU – the congregation of Ashley Ridge Church! You keep finding new ways to inspire me to keep the faith and optimism required to complete the building project.
You inspire with: 1) your words of encouragement to each other 2) the ways you find to continue giving generously to the Building Fund & General Fund 3) the way you keep showing-up for worship on Sunday morning in-person and online and, 4) the ways you keep ministering to those in the community
Last week was one for the books (an especially rough week for me and many others) with things going awry in Afghanistan, the earthquake in Haiti, and the spike in COVID-19 cases. I feel like we are fighting a war on multiple fronts. I really needed to hear Pastor Jenn’s message this past Sunday on “Why Are You So Afraid?”
I found the whole service Sunday comforting and uplifting! They say, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” and that is precisely what we are doing at Ashley Ridge Church. You as a congregation continue to find ways to inspire and encourage each other – giving new meaning to the phrase “Better Together!”
Financial Report. I believe we are seeing a late Summer Surge in General Fund and Building Fund contributions (see below as of August 20th):
$4,475.56 Building Fund + $40,521.21 General Fund = $44,996.77
