October 12 Building Update 062
“SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED”
Pastor Jenn kicked-off a brand new message series this past Sunday entitled “SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED.” In this exciting, new series (October 10th through November 7th), Pastor Jenn will convey the vision and direction she wants the church to pursue in 2022 and beyond. One aspect of the vision will be creating a permanent home base for Ashley Ridge Church in the Summerville community.
The series title reminds me of a time long ago when I would receive a model kit (car or plane) for Christmas, and it would say “SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED” on the box. This usually meant there were A LOT of itty-bitty parts and pieces that needed to be assembled in the correct order and fit together perfectly. Not only that, but I would have to read the complicated and sometimes ambiguous directions (can you say ughhh!!!) many times over to understand what part or piece went where, when and how.
The building process has been like that with A LOT of moving parts (little, big and otherwise) which need to be assembled and sequenced in the correct order and fit together perfectly (but without the directions). The next piece needed to go in place is a short term fundraising effort to fund the swap site expenses.* You will be hearing more about this from Pastor Jenn & Staff in the coming days.
*These additional funds will be used to complete the initial steps on the new site i.e. geotechnical & civil engineering SD (schematic design), interior & exterior rendering, etc.
The $100K goal of the Vision series campaign will be twofold: 1) raise funds for initial building expenses on the swap site and 2) increase giving totals to assist Ashley Ridge Church in “making comp” in 2021 (receiving as much or more in 2021 as we did in 2020 will help us qualify for the construction loan in the amount needed next year).
The $100K goal of the Vision series will be supplemented by existing church funds and the $50K deposit refund on the additional 10 acre tract of land on Summers Dive where we still hold a purchase option. SO, this means any amount raised above the $100K goal will help Ashley Ridge conserve its financial resources for future building related expenses in 2022. To do all of this, we need your help!!!
If you would like to make a contribution to the Vision series campaign, you can do so here.
